Innocence + Purity

Innocence + Purity

A Return To Innocence and Purity. . .

innocence-purityDo you remember your childhood? Do you remember what you loved the most? What you could spend all day long doing?

Do you remember a time when you felt free, loving, accepted? Innocent and pure?

Before the pain, the hurts, the loss, the disappointments. Before you lost your innocence and purity. Or before it was taken from you.

I recently spent a few days in the Outer Banks, North Carolina with a mastermind group of amazing, entrepreneurial women and had the life changing opportunity of doing just that. Regaining my innocence + purity.

How?  We played.  Yes, played.

We laughed. We were goofy, silly and free.

We had scavenger hunts, survival challenges and focused on a return to innocence and purity. How liberating it was to laugh, play, ride bikes, splash in the ocean, race around and just feel free and child like.

To just let go of all the crap and be uninhibited, joy filled and excited to be alive.

It awakened something in us. It was a great reminder to be able to bring this essence into our daily lives, into our businesses, our families, and even our interactions with strangers.

You don’t have to travel to the Outer Banks to rediscover and reconnect with your innocence and purity. Although, I would highly recommend checking out this amazing area. No small coincidence that this was where the Wright Brothers first took flight, as did many of us, metaphorically speaking.

Simple ways to reconnect with your energy of purity and innocence:

  • Remember what you liked to do as a kid and do it—as if you were that kid—right back in that space of play.  Bike ride. Swim. Ride horses. Draw. Lay in the grass. Build a fort. Get some squirt guns. Water balloons. Bubbles. PLAY!
  • Get out in nature. There is something very purifying about sitting by a river, listening to the water, hugging a tree.
  • Go Barefoot. No other explanation needed. Love this.
  • Whatever it was that you felt robbed you of your innocence—just allow it to melt away—if only for a few hours. Just allow yourself to experience life, as it was without the amour, the hiding , and the protection. Be a kid again.
  • Look at life and situations through the eyes of a child. if you have your own kids, be a kid with them! Let go and let them take the lead for a few hours. Feel what if feels like to just approach life with innocence.

I know for a lot of us, this can be challenging. We have had to build walls of protection and the illusion of control to feel safe in our lives. It’s OK to let go of that for a couple hours and just go back to our happy place. Our place where we could create magic. Where anything was possible.

Whats the pont? The point is that making this conscious choice to get reconnected with your natural state of innocence and purity puts you in a perfect energetic match to attract good things your way.

It’s just another way of raising your vibration in order to attract that which you want—that which you deserve!

The teeter-totter of life

The teeter-totter of life

Do you remember how much fun it was to be on the playground teeter -totter as a kid?

teeter-totterUp and down. Up and down. Up and down. Ahhhhh…….so free, relaxing and FUN!

I LOVED the teeter-totter. It required a partner on the other side that was equally committed and passionate about it, right?

Massive smile on your face and your teeter-totter partner grinning right back at you.  Oh—the simplicity of it all.

But what about as an adult when we find ourselves on the teeter-totter of life?

As an adult, the teeter-totter of life can seem to be a really bummer ride. It can seem, at times, to be really NOT fun, NOT freeing or relaxing.

How does it feel to experience the ups and downs of life?  I mean I know there is a big difference between actually being a playground teeter- totter and dealing with the trials and tribulations of life.

Or is it?  What if we were so masterful with our thoughts and feelings, that we could see the downs of life as not much different than the ups? If we could approach it with a “here I go down again, I know I be headed right back up again” attitude?

I am not suggesting ignoring or minimizing hardships, but I am definitely suggesting to not stay there for long.  Staying focused on the negative, the horrible things, the let downs, the bummers, the hurts and the sorrows, will NOT get you to your ideal health, wealth, love or nirvana. The longer you stay focused on the down things, the longer it will take to get back to the up times.

Choose to see the gift in the downs, just as much as the ups. Choose to allow the realness of what’s happening, but don’t stay attached to it. Choose to create a vision or intention of how exactly you want the situation to be, not how it actually is. Yes, VISUALIZE.  I know we have heard this a gazillion times, but we forget! We get lazy! We fall into old patterns and habits.

Guess what? If you really want something to shift in your life, you’ve got to start tweaking some things here and there. It’s not hard—stop repeating that story. It’s what you make it. It’s simple if that’s what you choose it to be. It just takes the doing of it, the seeing of it and the allowing of it.

As I always say, it’s your choice. Ride the teeter-totter of life with the unbridled enthusiasm and innocence of a kid— even the bumpy rides.

Choose to experience it as one, fun, freeing and potentially expansive ride.

Ahhh . . . sweet, sweet summer!

Barefoot. Bathing suit (or birthday suit). Lazy, long evenings.

Walks along the river. Camping. BBQ’s with friends. Sundresses. Sand between your toes.

I LOVE summer!

But what about work? What about your business, your list building, your tele-seminars? Your new program?

You can fully ENJOY summer, or any time of the year for that matter and also get your biz handled.

Simple ways to get it all done and still be barefoot, beautiful and abundant.

  • Breathe. Do it. Not breathing is a real big problem.
  • Breathe some more and then turn that into focused meditation for at least 15 minutes a day.
  • Get some sleep—at least 8 hours a night. I’m serious. This is a massive anti-aging secret. Sleep.
  • Get some nature. Earth momma is grounding, healing, transforming and uplifting. Sink your toes in the dirt, swim in a river, hug a tree. Love mother earth.
  •  Make it about getting into the mindset of enjoying MORE. Whatever it is you are doing. Practice the art of true enjoying in each and every moment. It will make you more productive when the DOING part of your life needs doing.
  • Create a do-able list. Not the list that overwhelms. The list that you know, in your heart of hearts—you CAN get done without sacrificing pleasure while doing it.
  • Give yourself a hug and celebrate your wins. Celebrate that you love yourself enough to take more time to slow down, read, hug a tree, love your family and friends, allow your truth to come through bit by bit, choice by choice.
  • Release the manic “having to get it all done and catch up with everyone else” syndrome. Those people aren’t happy. Be happy.

I invite you to enjoy summer with me. As with all of it and like I always say—it’s your choice.

In love, barefooted-ness and lightheartedness.
