3 ways to stand out without being obnoxious

How we stand out in our communities, our careers and even our families . . . . doesn’t have to be stand-out-in-a-crowd-ten-top-tips-for-getting-an-it-jobobnoxious to matter. 

Sometimes, we may think that in order to stand out, we have to be different or to force ourselves to act in a manner that isn’t truly who we are. And when I say “stand out” I don’t mean the kind of stand out that people get from being obnoxious , rude or pushy. 

I am talking about that authentic charisma that is a result of  finding, honing and standing in your 100% authentic, raw, real truth.

The NO BS truth.

3 ways to stand out WITHOUT being obnoxious, rude or pushy—

1. Be real. Yep—you are enough, you matter, you have a special something, something that no other human has. Just be you!

2. Know thyself. How can you be real if you don’t know who you are? Honestly, this is the first step. You gotta spend time being with you, understanding you, knowing what you love/don’t love, desire/don’t desire. You need to spend time honing in on exactly what it is that makes you tick, tock and transcend. 

3. Be courageous, take chances, be a big weird-o.  You can’t be “in your zone” and move onto your next level of growth and awareness when you are stuck in the same comfort zone. Standing out may require you move through some fears, take some chances and put yourself out there (and yes,  you may get rejected! It’s ok, remember #1—your are enough)

Our lives have become over busy, right? And what we need to do, is calm down, get clear about what we desire and then we need to choose that—daily. Daily choosing what we love and then rinse, repeat and revisit. 

If you want love, choose to love and be as much about love as you can be.

If you want a bigger e-mail list or to sell more books—then how about just being super real and connecting from that place that is really you. Do it because it radiates YOU so deeply that people can’t say no.

Do it from the inner depths of your sweet little soul.

Dig deep, breath into the essence of you really are–you light filled super human you—and then let that shine through in your work, your love, your interaction with the check out clerk, the way you talk to your kids, the energy you infuse into you food, your home, etc…..

YOU GET TO CHOOSE HOW YOUR LIFE LOOKS AND HOW YOUR LIFE FEELS. IT’S ALL YOU BABY.

So choose, choose, choose wisely (and courageously, lovingly and with purpose)

The key to being happy, healthy + wealthy

Sometimes getting clear about where we are in life can be a bit like ripping a band off super fast. band_aidIt may hurt a little, you may make a funny face and afterwords—you’ll realize it wasn’t such a big hairy deal after all.

THE TRUH IS—happiness, health and wealth are choices.

You may think that statement is unrealistic, call me a dreamer, or my favorite—an idealist.

And let’s be clear before you virtually throw a book at me—I am not discounting that people have real problems.

People don’t have money—they grow up poor.

People are born with health issues that were clearly NOT their choice.

And there are people who, no matter how hard they try—can’t find happiness.

I agree—people have problems. I agree—life can be hard.

I agree—we don’t always get to choose what happens to us, the family we are born into, or our genetics.

I get that life can deal us a bad hand.

And what I also know—is that no matter what sort of shit storm life throws your way—you can still choose to be happy.

You can still choose to create wealth.

You can still choose to work towards being healthier, no matter what your genetics.

The point is—you can mold, shape and manifest (if you wanna get all spiritual) a life that feels better to you (or that is closer to your dream life) by simply learning to be way, way, way more choosy about your choices.

Here are some examples (and they work if you actually do them…so do them gosh darnit!)

Instead of feeling_____________ when I am driving and that person doesn’t use their turn signal, I choose to feel___________ (you are working towards putting something a bit more positive and good feeling in the second space)

Rather than thinking______________when my checking account balance is under $50, I will instead choose to think______________(you are aiming to come up with a feeling that is a slight improvement from the first feeling. If you truly feel panicked about not having enough money, you probably won’t force a feeling of total confidence about it. But you can find a thought/feeling that is a bit better than panic)

I could really tell that person to_______________ right now, but I will choose to think, do or say ____________because that is a better energy and I know (in the long run) this will raise my vibration and deliver boatloads of life goodies my way. 

My back hurts, I will never lose this weight, my parents were like this, so I am stuck with it. Basically, my health is_________.  And I also know that I co-create my reality with thoughts, feelings and actions, so if I truly want to be a health machine, I better change my thoughts, feelings and actions. I will work on feeling more___________about my health and come up with ways to support a healthy lifestyle rather than adding to the negative energy that perpetuates it. 

*** so the idea here is to fill in the first blank with the actual thing you may feel in that instance. And the second or third blanks, you are reaching for a better thought or feeling. It does NOT have to be fake or forced, just a slight energetic improvement. And in the end, even if all this hocus-pocus manifesting stuff doesn’t work (I wholeheartedly DON’T believe that, because I am living, breathing proof it does) you will at least learn a method to feel a bit better when the going gets tough. 

So fill in the blanks of your life with new, better feelings and thoughts. It really does work, but not if you only think about it here and there and get lazy pants about it. 

If you want the change, you gotta change. You have to choose differently. 

Rip that bandaid off and get it over with already!

How about a little soul cleanse?

Today feels like a great day to begin a soul cleanse.

A soul cleanse—oh yes, yes, yes!!! What the heck is that, you ask?

A soul cleanse is a deep look into what is working/not working in our lives.

A soul cleanse begins with asking— “what uplifts me, what inspires me, what turns me on and gets me fired up, makes me laugh, smile and feel playful?” 

What makes me feel good. Really good?

And conversely it asks “what is dragging me down, sucking my energy, leaving me feeling depleted, bored, sad and tired?”

What is making me feel crappy? 

A soul cleanse is about weeding out what doesn’t feed your higher purpose in life. And it makes room for more light, love and connectedness to the Source of all life.

Then take note. Allow this new space of openness, shedding of old s**t and letting in of the wanted, the pure, the beautiful and the true.

And if this feels to . . . woo-woo . . . too “out there”—then simply do a little mini cleanse. This can be cleansing your e-mail account of old emails and unsubscribing from lists that don’t add something of value to your life.

It can be getting super honest and clear about what you choose to do with your extra time in life. Is watching TV at night really uplifting you? (and the answer can be YES. The answer doesn’t have to be NO. If watching a couple hours of mindless TV at night helps you relax and it’s working for you—then the only thing you need to drop is the guilt about it and just enjoy it—guilt free.)

You could also do a mini juice cleanse (I am starting the blueprint cleanse in a couple days . . . LOVE this one. I always come out of a juice clean feeling super alive.) Or you could commit to removing junk food from your life for a couple weeks.

The sky is truly the limit. The point of a soul cleanse is to just accept, own and embrace the fact that you have all these delicious CHOICES in this life. And what you choose—impacts your life on so many levels.

So, I say—CHOOSE THOSE THINGS THAT GET YOU CLOSER TO THE TRUTH OF WHO YOU ARE—YOUR SOUL.

Ask that beautiful soul, today, right here and now—what you can do for it.

And just listen. Listen to that part of you that knows, knows exactly what it is that you need.

I am seriously tired of this. Seriously tired of some of the greatest minds out there—tooting this horn. 

I will unabashedly state, my dears, my friends, my loves . . . 

We don’t have to struggle, feel like shit, or work our asses off—in order to be happy and feel good. 

We can just simply, right here, right now—choose to feel good and be happy. 

I really do know you can choose this. 

I did. I do. It works. I am free. 

Come along and join the party. The party to feel good, live the life you love—without having to wear the badge of struggle, self sacrifice and hardship.

The Only Two Choices That Matter

If I stumbled across this heading, I would probably be like . . . no way!

Get outta here. Only two?

No one is gonna tell me I only have two choices! I mean come on, we live for our choices, don’t we?

We live for having many choices. 

It’s what makes us feel free.

There is something quite expansive about knowing you can choose many different things. 

And there is also the flip side, which I know you have most likely felt—that sometimes it feels like there are TOO MANY CHOICES. 

I call it choice overload.

It’s when we get that deer in headlights sensation—when it is just too much, too many, overload to the senses. 

So, yes, on one hand having many choices can be a great thing, and on the other hand—it can be counterproductive.

Having too many choices actually holds us back when it creates that sense of being overwhelmed and also when having too many choices creates an inability to make conscious, grounded choices. 

So, whats an inquiring mind to do? 

If you are, like me, I want to have the best possible life that I can. I want to feel free, happy and alive. I want to feel peace, harmony and abundance. I desire travel, good food, happy people around me and I desire things in my life to just be super dialed in.

Don’t you want a life that lights you up? Where you are excited about each day.

Thrilled. Magical. Sizzling.

Harmonious + Free.  

Prosperity? Yes. LOVE? YES PLEASE!  

Success on your own terms? Absolutely. 

Can you relate to this? 

Can you relate to wanting to be super in sync with your life? To know and feel such a deep sense of truth, that there is just no doubt. 

No doubt that you are on track—in your zone. And If you are a spiritual person (or faith based ) then you also want to feel a sense of being connected with your higher truth, your larger vision and your God, your Source. 

This is truly when the magic happens. 

I believe, that when we get to this place—this is when the miracles really start to show up for us. 

And having these things show up in our lives (or not show up) is a choice. 

When it comes right down to the nitty gritty of living blissful, connected lives—you have two choices. 

You get to choose one path—which is a set of beliefs, feelings and general ways of being in the world—that line up with and support your dreams and desires. 

Or you have the second choice—which is to think, feel and act in ways that don’t support you. 

Two choices (which really encompass many different choices) but can all be narrowed down to either things that support your divine path, or they don’t. 

You are choosing love, joy, happiness, optimism, connecting, awareness, gratitude, appreciation, faith, surrender–things that get you energetically lined up for success. 

Or, you are choosing blame, guilt, hate, anger, victimhood, unconsciousness, self-hatred, self-sabotage—you are choosing things that you know, on some level—are holding you back from your greatness. 

Two choices—to be in your zone of creating what you want, or to be in your zone of creating what you don’t want. 

You get to choose. That is the brilliant thing about it all.

Coming Your Way Soon—Mercury Retrograde

This one is gonna be good!  

It’s about re-invention.

I LOVE RE-ANYTHING!  IT SIGNIFIES A  FRESH START.  It means we get to re-do, re-claim, re-focus, re-learn, re-love, re-choose + re-member.

Want better health, more wealth, that hunky love partner, or world peace? You get to reinvent what that means for you now. 

Dear Souls . . . there is truly no need to EVER freak out or be worried about things. Worry is not a vibration that attracts what you want.

Worrying isn’t high vibration (and plus it feels horrible)

In fact, worry just generally keeps us stuck in cycles that give us more shit to worry about. 

So, put on your positivity pants and gear up for another powerful, transformational Mercury Retrograde. 

 

If you don’t know what mercury retrograde—I would love to fill you in. 

Mercury Retrograde happens about 3-4 times a year and—in a nutshell—the planet Mercury slows down in its orbit and appears to move backwards. 

However, this is an optical illusion (no planets move backwards).  According to the smarty pants as NASA (it’s not just us woo-woo types that talk about Mercury Retrogrades) the normal motion of stars and planets in our nights sky—goes from west to east direction. This is called prograde motion. 

A retrograde of any planet occurs when it shifts from an east to west direction before turning back to prograde motion.  

The planetary dance that happens in this process, is our beloved Mercury Retrograde period. 

Mercury Retrograde has become quite the buzzwords and people get all freaked out about their computers breaking down, cars not working, flights being cancelled and basically, all hell breaking loose on earth. 

And why do people think this?  

From an astrological perspective, Mercury is the planet that rules all forms of communication, travel, clarity and honesty. 

 

So when planet Mercury starts shaking things up out there in the universe (by going into a retrograde), the school of thought is that our earthly matters that are connected to travel, communication and these sorts of things—go a bit helter-skelter. 

Whether you believe this to be true, or not—as with anything in life—just being aware and conscious is a good choice.

If it does exist and does genuinely impact things in your life—then approaching these times thoughtfully and with awareness—is a perfect way to flow with it.  

Personally, I do notice a big shift in energy during retrogrades and I have used these times for great, positive transformations in my own life.   

I get all geeked out about retrogrades because for me, they symbolize a time to go inward, reflect and reinvigorate. 

To reiterate . . . there is no need to worry during a retrograde. 

Thoughts are things dears. And we choose our thoughts (this is powerful)

 

Can we prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that Mercury Retrograde does what people says it does? Nope!

But we can be aware. And we can use every moment—whether its a retrograde, or not—to choose to be aware, conscious and in alignment with what we want to do in life and who we want to be. 

The most current retrograde happens next week—January 21st through February 11th, 2015.  The other two this year are on May 18th—June 11th and September 17th—October 9th. 

Mark it on your calendars (or not). And maybe make a note to keep a journal during retrogrades to see what you observe in your own life. 

I happen to have 2 trips planned during this retrograde and I am feeling quite jazzed about both of them.

As with anything—it comes down to a choice.

 

A choice to think a certain way, feel a certain way and act in a certain way—that lines up with what you want in life. Whatever it may be— a reinvention during a powerful retrograde, or better health, more passion and love in your life, or simply more happiness—it’s all about choosing thoughts and feelings that get you closer to those things. 

Welcome the retrograde, or ignore it altogether—it’s your choice.

p.s. Try to NOT get caught in the trap of blaming unwanted things on the planets (lovingly). Rather, embrace these times and access your true and birth given power. Use these times for re-inventing what it means to be the you that you want to be.
